TheAmerican Red Cross is hiring forFull-Time Outbound Service Agents at our Southwest Charlotte call center. We are conveniently located off of I-77 and easily accessible via bus line. These positions arepermanent and training classes will begin in March and April. We offer paid training, shift differential, a full benefits package, team environment and a potential to earn incentive pay for top performers. These positions sit onsite at our call center and are not remote call center opportunities.

Our agents recruit prospective blood donors from a variety of sources by phoning individuals to make donation appointments. The Service Agent I will contact blood donors to increase the frequency of donations and increase the number of donors at fixed sites or mobile unit blood drives to meet the collections goals. This is a great opportunity to positively impact the quality of service to donors and groups by increasing the availability of blood products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months or more of Customer Service, Sales, Telemarketing or Call Center experience

  • Strong computer skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Great attitude and friendly demeanor

  • Great communication skills

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

  • Ability to work the required shift:

  • Full Time Schedule: Sundays 11:30 am – 8:00 pm and Monday thru Thursday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Contact blood donors by telephone using a dialer system to recruit for blood donation.

  • Use information from multiple computer systems simultaneously to target appropriate blood drives for donor, update donor records as needed and to record outcomes of calls.

  • Schedule appointments while providing positive service experience to maximize donor show rates.

  • Follow a process and appropriate scripting for conducting a call with a donor, to ensure a consistent donor experience.

  • Maintain daily production standard, including phone calls and appointments per hour, to meet established collection goals.

  • Develop a working knowledge of donor criteria to inform donors of eligibility and reduce deferral rates.

  • Maintain accurate records of donors/groups contacted and appointments scheduled to avoid errors, poor customer relations and to ensure sufficient donor availability.

  • May develop new leads and implement new donor recruitment programs to ensure an increased donor base and an adequate blood supply.

  • Respond to or transfer inbound calls to the appropriate party.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • May coordinate support of community and business donor groups to assure a positive image of the ARCBS.
