As a Senior Associate in Disaster Fundraising with American Red Cross you will support our fundraising efforts during large-scale domestic disasters as well as supporting international disaster fundraising needs as they arise. Through providing guidance on strategy , best practices along and working with statistical data (analyzing and distributing) you will work with a variety of resources and teams to accomplish our mission.

Our Senior Associates in Disaster Fundraising focus on identifying needs, compiling and creating campaign materials and compose donor messaging. Working across teams and departments to lead strategic planning meetings will help determine our goal and support the development, management and implementation of our overall strategies. This exciting position writes, designs and edits operational updates to inform major donors on current disasters as well as analysis our delivery statistics for a variety of purposes.

To be successful in this role we are seeking candidates with a bachelor degree in marketing, public affairs, political science, nonprofit management, or related field along with 3-5 years experience. For the right candidate, a combination of education and experience is accepted. All candidates MUST possess a high degree of organization, possess analytical skills (including coordination and strong attention to detail) as well as full working knowledge and comfort with the Microsoft Office suite especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Due to the nature of this position, demonstrated tact and diplomacy (especially in difficult and sensitive situations) in addition to exceptional customer service skills is required. You must be able to successfully manage multiple priorities and complex relationships, including acting as a liaison between teams while working under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.You will be expected to remain flexible in your role to meet the sudden and urgent needs during a disaster; this includes a regular rotation of on call hours.
