The American Red Cross is currently seeking aFacilities Assistant in Salt Lake City, Utah!
Provides general facilities administration support and facility security functions. May perform or oversee repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. May use hand and power tools. May tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
May perform some or all of the following tasks: 1. Perform archiving of records per System 3. 2. Coordinate vendor service PM work orders and submit to MAXIMO. 3. Maintain facility standards according to System 5. 4. Perform facility safety inspections. May serve as member of Facility Safety Committee. 5. Perform Lockout/tagout per System 8. 6. Perform fire extinguisher inspections. Schedule facility fire drills. Maintain documentation. 7. Receive Regulated Supplies per System 13. 8. Monitor security surveillance system and assist with reviews. 9. Handle bio-waste pick-ups, supplies and destruction manifests. 10. Order department supplies. 11. Troubleshoot facility office machines. 12. Create and issue security access cards. 13. Generate Accounting Vouchers per accounts payable. 14. May serve as point-of-contact for cell phone management. 15. Administer facility telephone system (land line). 16. May assist with management of Contractor Safety Program. 17. Oversee Emergency Generator (PM fuel). 18. Assign fixed asset tags; maintain log. 19. Prepare facility for inclement weather. 20. May serve as backup for switchboard; receptionist duties.
High school diploma plus five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.required. Must have basic writing and communication skills. Basic computer skills desired.
