American Red Cross Laboratory Assistant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description:


  1. Receive customer calls, including orders for antigen negative blood products, and refer if applicable, to

appropriate personnel.

  1. Operate, maintain and may perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment.

  2. Perform receiving, inspection and storage of IRL supplies and reagents.

  3. May perform manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable.

  4. May perform donor product inventory management.

  5. May perform labeling and verification of blood products.

  6. Maintain accurate, legible and complete records.

  7. May perform duties associated with receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of patient and donor blood


  1. May monitor temperatures of blood products and donor/patient samples.

  2. Adhere to procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP).

  3. Perform other related duties as required


High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of laboratory experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree (AS) or higher preferred. Computer experience and familiarity with office automation (e.g. MS Word) desired.
